We’re proud to recognize our students for the great choices they make, from their kindness to their strong work habits. Here’s a look at our most recent shoutouts. Thank you to our PPO for contributing a gift certificate for a frozen treat at Walker’s Ice Cream!
December was filled with holiday festivities and fun at MGS! Our students truly shone on stage during our concert, singing, signing, and performing with confidence and joy. Our school elves helped collect and stock shelves as our MGS community gathered over 2,000 items donated to the Châteauguay Food Bank.
A big thank you to our PPO for organizing a successful raffle and bake sale, a visit with Santa, and a craft sale, as well as to the volunteers who served a warm breakfast—prepared by the BLVD—to all students the day before the holidays. With so many festive activities happening throughout the school, the spirit of giving and community was felt all month long. Our MGS community rocks!
Our Grade 5 and 6 students proudly represented MGS at St. Willibrod’s Mini Volleyball Tournament at the beginning of December. Their sportsmanship, effort, and encouragement of one another were amazing to see! We are so proud of our MGS teams and how well they played. A big thank you to Ms. Rachelle for her guidance and coaching throughout the season!
Cycle 3 students had a wonderful outing to the Montreal Science Centre. They solved puzzles with the Nanualuk learning activity, where they learned about various aspects of Inuit culture. Then they went to see the Explore and Human exhibits. The students handled different tools and played on scientific platforms.
After lunch, they had the pleasure of sitting down and watching the T-Rex movie at the Imax theater. Research and discoveries about dinosaurs continue to amaze scientists and children alike. We had a wonderful educational field trip!
